Many legends have persisted Coral through the ages. The Romans used to hang its beads on the cradles and around the neck of infants to preserve and fasten their teeth. It was also regarded as a charm against lightning, whirlwind, shipwreck and fire. Some used it as a preventive against sorcery, charms and poison.
