STRONG AND WEAK PLANETS

A planet is strong -

* if it is in good houses, i.e. angular houses (Kendras)
* if it is in its own sign, Mool Trikona sign, Exaltation or friendly sign
* if it is near about the middle of the sign
* if it is farthest away from Sun
* if it gets strength (as referred to above)
* if it is located with benefic planets, surrounded by or aspected by benefic planets
* if it is retrograde
* if it is well placed from the Ascendant i.e. IInd, IVth, Vth, VIIth, IXth, Xth, or XIth from it

A planet is weak -

* if it is in bad houses (IIIrd, VIth, VIIIth or XIIth)
* if it is in inimical sign, or debilitation sign
* if it is at about the very start or the fag end of the sign
* if it is with Sun (specially, when it is within the combustion degree (as given above)
* if it is located in a house opposite to the one in which it gets Directional strength
* if it is located with malefic planets, surrounded by or aspected by malefic planets
