PRASTARASHTAKVARG We have seen the benefic places of different planets from other planets and prepared the Ashtakvargas for all planets and also how the timing of an event can be found out. Still probing deeper to time an event more accurately, Prastarashtak Varg (Detailed or Expanded Ashtakvarg) is prepared for all planets. We know Sun is good in IIIrd house. But it will be in IIIrd house for a full month. When will its good effect materialize in the month? To find out this, Prastarashtak Varg is used. For this purpose, each sign of 30° is divided into 8 parts of 3° 45' each. Whatever the sign may be, the first part of a sign is ruled by Saturn, then Jup, Mars, Sun, Ven, Mer, Mon and Asc. From Sun Ashtakvarg we find that Sun received 5 points in Cancer, which is good. From the detailed preparation of Sun Ashtakvarg we also know that these 5 points came from Jupiter, Ven, Mer, Mon and Asc. That means Sun will give good results when Sun is between longitudes of 3° 46' and 7° 30', which part belongs to Jupiter. Similarly, Sun will be good from 15° to 18° 45', which part belongs to Ven and from 18° 46' to 22° 30', which part belongs to Mercury, from 22° 30' to 26° 15' which part belongs to Moon, and from 26° 15' to 30° which part belongs to Ascendant. There will be no result or bad result when Sun passes over other longitudes, owners of which have not given any dot or points to Sun. When Sun will reach different longitudes, belonging to different planets, can be calculated easily from any ephimery or panchang and thus exact timing of an event predicted. Thus, the Prastarashtakvarg pinpoints the timing of an event more accurately. This kind of Prastarashtakvarg can be prepared for all the planets (given below ) and detailed examination can be made. PREPARATION OF PRASTARASHTAKVARG CHARTS Prastarashtakvarg of Sun Refer to Sun Ashtakvarga as given above. In this we see that Sun Ashtakvarg receives 5 dots in Cancer, 4 in Taurus, and so on. Now from where they have come? Sun receives 5 dots in Cancer as under: 1 dot from Mars 1 dot from Sun 1 dot from Venus 1 dot from Mercury 1 dot from Ascendant How? It will be clear if we see the planet-wise preparation of Ashtakvargas. (Lesson ) Similarly, Sun receives 4 dots in Taurus, as under: 1 dot from Sun 1 dot from Mercury 1 dot from Saturn 1 dot from Venus and so on. This can be summarised as under. Similarly, Prastarashtakvargas for other planets can be culated and are summarised as below. The first sign is always that of the sign where the concerned planet, for whom Prastarashtakvarg is being made, is posited. E.g. For Sun Prastarashtakvarg, Sun is in sign 8; hence, first 8 is written and then onwards. Similarly, for Moon Prastarashtakvarg, Moon is in sign 7; hence, first 7 is written and then onwards.
